Everything I make comes from an idea, practice, failures and patience, lots of patience. The projects have given me a purposeful focus with a beautiful outcome. I call this a "Hobby", but it is really therapy for me. It is amazing to turn a boring piece of wood into something beautiful. I pray while I work, sometimes for the things that weigh on my heart, often times I pray for the person who will receive my creation. Prayer is what brings me peace. I want every detail perfect, but sometimes the piece is far from what I imagined, but it is beautiful, full of my prayers, a hope someone is as happy to get it as I was to give it. I don't mass produce and it might take awhile to get what you order, but know it is made with love and prayers. My "workshop" is literally my backyard patio. I am limited only by weather- can't sand in the rain or snow.
My boards are hand planed for leveling, hand sanded. I use food safe epoxy to fill the cracks and voids and then apply a minimum of 5 coats of food safe board oil. I also supply a 2oz container of board wax (made from mineral oil and beeswax) to keep the board conditioned for years of use.
Most projects are made from a really, really old oak tree we had taken down in our back yard. The wood is beautiful and comes in many different shapes and sizes. I may have access to a few different varieties of wood depending on our supply chain (people who have had trees cut down and save pieces for me 😁). Send me an email with your name and phone number to get started.
